Vivienne Westwood at Anthropologie…say what?

Vivienne Westwood Rain or Shine Flats

Vivienne Westwood Rain or Shine Flats

Ok number one, I can not wait for this work week to be over.  I am so drained from staying up to 2 a.m. every night watching Mad Men Season 4 on box set and dealing with getting back to work when I was away for 10 days.  Which lets face it – felt like no time off at all.

So sitting at my desk feeling kinda bored I checked out Anthropologie’s website as I have a 15% birthday coupon burning a hole in my pocket.  I bought 2 pairs of lovely chaussures in Chicago which I will post pix of in the next few days so I thought ‘hey, lets see what else these kids are up to.’
As you can see these babies are known simply as Rain or Shine Flats.  Upon closer examination I saw the Vivienne Westwood orb on the side of the flats.  Hello?  Why are they not being advertised as VW flats?  Interesting non?  I thought so.
Perhaps they want to make it seem like its an Anthro label? Perhaps they don’t indicate the labels of any of their out of house brands?  Questionable indeed.
Here are the stats ladies:
A cheetah-printed bow rests atop the tiniest of peep-toe, crowning these water-resistant, ready-for-anything skimmers.
  • Fits true to size
  • Rubber, plastic upper
  • Synthetic insole
  • Rubber sole
  • Brazil
  • $130 USD

As a side note, I won’t be using my birthday discount on them.  I don’t know…they kinda look like sexy galoshes.  Personally, not my scene.  But it has perked my interest to see if Anthro will get more VW and what happens to that line when they go on sale.  ;)

Missoni for Target

Missoni

Missoni

I had no idea that Missoni did a 400 piece campaign with Target?  Man Target is really bringing it.  Now that they are coming to Canada in the next few years hopefully us Canadians can partake in the splendour too.

The Missoni collection hits Target stores and online Sept. 13 and encompasses everything from womenswear and shoes to bedding and dinnerware.

From what I can see it is affordable, clean and pretty chic.  Obviously not the same quality as that of the luxury in house brand but still lovely enough to own at a bargain price.  I have purchased Luella Bartley and Erin Featherston lines when they came and went to Target a few years back.  They never disappointed.  Will you check the Missoni line out come Sept 13th ladies?

School Girl Look

Sexy School Girl Look c/o popsugar.com

I love the school girl look.  Maybe it’s because I went to Catholic School all my life.  Hmmm.  I never had a problem with my kilt and sweater combo when I was in highschool.  Nope…I actually kinda loved it.  It was a grey, black, blue and silver lined kilt and blue sweater vest.  I’d save my money and buy Ralph Lauren Polo Oxford Shirts when my folks would take my siblings and I to Buffalo on weekends.  I loved my blue knee socks too and to be my badass self I would rotate Converse sneakers, Doc Marten’s and oxford shoes depending on the day.

So this look for the Fall – makes me happy.  I may not rock the uber short kilt mini.  But I do have my sweet skirts and plaid with a cute mary jane pump ready to go.  Nice blouses for sure but not to secretary is key.

Back to school time is so much fun..even though I have no want or need to be back in school.  I guess its nostalijia and the excitement of getting new warm fall frocks and wool.  Its coming.  There are plans to go to Montreal and New York this fall with the girls.  Can not wait!

I love the Fall and we only have a couple of weeks left of August.  Its been a tough summer for me.  There has been some pretty major loss and I’m coming out of it.  Its funny this year as a whole the theme has been loss for me.  I’m wondering what the universe is telling me or maybe I’m having to do some penance.  ;)   Who knows?

Thanks for sticking with me peeps! xo
