Mad Men Inspired Looks at Banana Republic
So apparently the lead costume designer at Mad Men concocted this collection of inspired looks for Banana Republic. Do I like? Sure. But honestly – its not really Mad Men is it? Its just a lil bit retro and a lil bit modern 50′s meet 2011 nouveau chic. Really you can make this look by going into any retail store right now and mixing and matching.
If you want to be even more creative – go to a vintage shop and hit it up on a regular basis for some extra crinoline, cute sweater sets and some sexy hosiery for a fraction of what BR is hawking these outfits.

I do find the Houndstooth Dress for $185 romantic. It looks nicely constructed and nice quality. Its hard to find this baby in the stores right and sizes are limited but I think it would make a nice staple piece.
