‘Give Me a Reason to Love You’….Portishead – Glory Box, Live in Roseland New York

Yes, they are coming.  I just bought tickets for Andrew and I for their Sun Oct 9th show at the Sound Academy.  Tickets were $70.  I think Massive Attack was cheaper last Fall.  Hmmmm….then again MA does tour more than P. P is more elusive and really they have been living off their earnings from their music being on CSI, every car commercial and perhaps a beer commercial or two.  Hey, I’m not hating.  I get it…its all about the hustle.

If you don’t own Portishead Live at the Roseland in NY – please pick it up.  Its life changing and just gorgeous.  When I listen to this album I have visions of Grade 9, walking through city streets in Manchester, cold, rainy nights, lots of things lost, pure happiness and amazing love…its a solid album 15 years gone.

I hope they can bring it just as hard in October.  Fingers crossed.
