Why is it when I have not purchased a bag in more than a year I find one that I love and its sold out everywhere?  Yep – this Zara Fall Plaited Leather Bucket Bag Black $159 CAD is my obsession and I can’t find her anywhere. Can you?

This would be a perfect bag for work and a transitional bag for a night out after work.  The price is perfect too!  I was in Zara just today looking for a bag for my best friend for her bday.  I was disappointed.  In Canada Zara bags are supremely overpriced after the exchange.  The good ones go fast and really the other ones I did see weren’t anything spectacular.  If they had this bag Fritz would be getting it on Saturday.  Typical.

I have bought Zara bags and clothes both in Madrid and L.A. for a fraction of what they go for in Toronto.  Our dollar is so strong right now…this doesn’t seem fair.  This feels like a JCrew pricing type issue again.

If any of you lovelies see this bag on ebay (currently selling close to $300 USD) or around town at your local Zara..grab it!  It’s a staple and quality piece which will last you a long time.

Spotlight: Zara Men’s Suits – Scott

Is it just me, but I had no idea that Zara made the most lovely structured suits for men.  I guess I’m too busy swooning after the ladies skirts, dresses and other debauchery to have noticed in the past.

Looking at the suits on line…ladies.  You need to get your boys on this tip asap.  They are sublime.  Coals, khaki, grey and slates.  Perfect summer suits for weddings, nights out and lovingly structured.  They remind me of suits Jamie Hince from the Kills wears and what my boyfriend (ahem) Diplo wears.

I have to actually give a shout out to Scott for giving me the head’s up on Zara.  As you can see in this pic…exhibit A, Zara Structured Blazers and trousers.  Total retail price $300 CAD.  He mentioned to me, ‘Why pay a $1000 for a suit when you can get one for $200 at Zara’.  This is a fashionisto in the making.  Perfection Scott well played and well worn.

Zara – Long Term Investment Pieces

I truly fell in love with Zara when I was in Madrid a few years back.  It has nothing on Mango.  Nothing.  It’s class all the way with Zara, the lines are clean, colourful, beautifully constructed, sure at times can be pricey but if you catch a sale – it’s on.

The outfits are so me.  They are pretty, a lil badass but also fun and flirty.  When I buy quality pieces – I want a long term relationship.  So that means I want pieces that I can at least wear for 5-6 years minimum.  No I’m not a hoarder!  Hello!  I have pieces in my closet that I bought in Manchester 8 years ago from Primark which I still wear with a cute skirt for work or jeans for a night out.  Think long term ladies and then throw out or recycle.

Even if you buy a super expensive piece and its past the trend by the following year.  Just keep it in your closet if you still love it.  It will come back. If your lucky the year after.  Zara is great for this.  They build classics into your wardrobe.

Lastly, if your in Madrid next – check out the Zara and Mango outlet stores in the city centre.  You will thank me later.
