City and Colour

I finally got my act together and updated my ipod last night.  I forgot how healing that lil device is.  I guess I have been avoiding it.  I couldn’t sleep last night so I ended up listening to some new tracks I downloaded and tried to stay away from older songs.  It’s interesting how music can be transformational.

I remembered being at Lollapalooza in the summer and catching City and Colour.  It was so hot and standing in a crowd with tons of other Canadians really taking in Dallas’ lyrics.  His voice, his music and the words make so much sense especially for me right in that moment.  They soothe and at the same time give you something to dwell on.  It’s funny you would think listening to his music would be more impactful whilst listening to him alone in your flat or on your ipod.  But no, it created an ambience even on that lil side stage in Chicago in 41 degree celcius weather.

City and Colour has a new album out called ‘Little Hell’.  He played quite a few songs off it at Lolla.   I liked what I heard.  Now that I have my ipod up and running, I’ll be keen to download it.  Look his music is hardly knee slapping and dance around your flat tunes…but they are great to reflect to.  If you haven’t listened to him before – give it a try.  If you have – enjoy.

Lastly, I’m not a Queen Street Hipster either.  ;)

Yours in fashion,

Mel xo
