Alan Rickman’s Letter to JK Rowling

Alan Rickman’s Letter to JK Rowling

Someone asked me a few month’s back who my fav character is in Harry Potter.  I’ve never really had one but at the end of Deathly Hallows I felt that honour had to go to Snape.  I loved the way Alan Rickman played him and for me Snape pulled together all the questions, symbols, doubts and confusion in a nice tight bow at the end of the series.  It all made sense and he was at the story’s core along with Harry.

The above letter was one of my highlights of the film’s legacy this year.  It was a thank you letter from Alan Rickman to JK Rowling where he detailed in Empire Magazine his gratitude for her vision and creativity during the process of filming the series.  Well written, smart and yes even full of love/gratitude.  It reminded me how much sending a letter, a note or even a card is important especially these days.  I’ve penned a stack of Christmas cards to loved ones this year – they are filled with messages of a similar sentiment but also very different.  I’m so lucky I have people in my life that are lovely, positive, healthy and exude warmth.  I’m a lucky girl.

By the way, I’ve asked Santa for Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2 for Christmas.  Can’t wait for my Christmas holidays.  ;)

Happy night!
