Media Profile’s 30th Anniversary and Holiday Party (December 3, 2015)

Media Profile celebrated their 30th Anniversary and Holiday Party last night.  As usual, it was epic!  Media Profile prides itself on being an independent, entrepreneurial and tenacious public relations firm. Their communication campaigns are based on a healthy blend of research and imagination.  They use all the tools in the toolbox, whether media relations, social media, content creation and marketing etc..  So clearly it was no surprise that their holiday parties resemble who they are and how they work.  Think fun, fantastic and guaranteed to go late.

As we made our way through the historic Burroughes Building space which is hipster meets chic.  It’s aged brick, high ceilings, swooping arched doorways, NYC elevator shaft and roof top patio – makes you feel welcomed and ready for a good time.

This year we indulged upon only the best high shelf Whiskey and Rye from the likes of Jack Daniels and  Collingwood etc.  Ninutik Maple Sugar was back (http://ninutik.com/store/home2.php) as they drizzled the most gorgeous of maple syrup onto a bed of ice hearkening memories at Pioneer Village as a child sitting at a picnic table slurping it’s sweet syrupy delights.  The only difference at the Media Profile Party 30 years later, we had gourmet cheese wrapped into the ice hardened maple syrup like an ensconced sweater with the option of having bacon bits dipped on top like a crown.  It was a perfect mate to our whiskey drinks.

DJ Carl Allen spun beats that were 80’s infused to commemorate Media Profile’s 1985 anniversary date.  The night brought people onto the dance floor to shake it to  Shannon’s ‘Let the Music Play’, Heart and Pat Benatar’s ‘Love is a Battlefield’.

The holiday decorations were minimal but celebrated an icy 1980’s throwback living room theme.  Cassettes and 7” records lay around for the night’s guests to pick up and giggle at.  The holiday lights beamed as we relished our gorgeous pints and cocktails and shared chats with fellow guests.

There was an immense congratulations board so guests could wish Media Profile a hearty anniversary message.  The stand alone selfie station equipped with wooden moustaches and lips could be used for cheeky shots and then printed up on the tiniest printer you have ever seen as a takeaway bonbonierre.  The shots were reminiscent of K-mart photo booths.  The only thing missing was fighting over who got what shot to put in their locker.  In 2015, we get pictures emailed to us to minimize the fights.

The Media Profile signature drinks never disappoint.  We loved The Maverick and The Cosmopolitan the best.  The Maverick had Collingwood Whiskey, Amaretto, Bitters, Lemon Juice and Maple Syrup in it.  It was sleek, sophisticated and sexy.  As we looked up at a mobile record display above our head’s we felt the nostalgic warmth fill our body.

The champagne toast to celebrate Media Profile’s 30th Anniversary and Holiday Party was full of good cheer and tidings.   When the champagne fountain started to flow it was evident the room really came together to have a moment of satisfaction based on accomplishment, love for the work, appreciation of the team and it’s amazing clients over the years.  Emotional, teary but also beaming with pride is what was witnessed in people’ eyes.

To take us home with a warm belly we hit up the Mac & Cheese station from T O B E N.  Think a choice between Classic Four Cheese Mac n’ Cheese or Applewood Smoked Bacon Mac n’ Cheese.  The toppings of Brioche Bread Crumbs, Caramelized Onions and Truffle Oil was enough to transport us back to 2015 reality in the Mac n’ Cheese haute couture modern day greatness.

Media Profile will always be known as the most crashable holiday party in Toronto.  It’s epic in stature, the attention to detail is always on point and most importantly the vibe is consistently friendly, accommodating and authentically warm.  Perfectly symbolic of the Media Profile brand and people.

Until December 2016!

Happy Holidays!
