“We’re excited every year for the Festival, but this year feels extra special – our 30th anniversary is a great time to pause and reflect on 30 years of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival,” states Artistic Director, Josh Grossman. “I feel so fortunate to help bring to our stages each year the most exciting musicians, playing the most exciting music. In 2016, we are truly featuring some of the most important artists in the development of jazz over the past 30 years, and some of the artists who are set to take jazz – and the Festival – into future.”

WHAT’S NEW FOR 2016

As we celebrate our 30th anniversary this summer, we expand our festival footprint and partner, for the first time, with Second Cup at King Street and John Street. Programming will be chosen to reflect the casual and laid-back environment, showcasing the wide variety of jazz being performed in Toronto year-round.

The Mainstage tent at Nathan Phillips Square will now feature new seating options, allowing patrons to choose their seats for every ticketed performance on the Toronto Star Stage. There will be three seating options to choose from – Reserved Seating with an assigned row and seat number amongst the best seats in the house; Lounge Premium Seating with guaranteed access to the elevated lounge, however seating is first come, first served; and General Admission to the main floor seating where seating is also first come, first served.

Toronto’s current longest standing jazz club, The Rex Jazz & Blues Bar, will play host to nightly, late-night jam sessions. Led by Chris Gale, it is the place to be this summer for a good hang. And you just never know which musicians will drop in, ready to jam.

FESTIVAL LINEUP AT A GLANCE:
